Hey, don't knock it, maybe you're this close to starting a new fashion trend. What's passe today might just be a la mode tomorrow.
[ is this a really obvious attempt to cheer him up with some levity, it probably is... or maybe it's just what he's used to, or more like what he's noticed Peter Parkers tend to be used to. joking even when beat up and tired seems to be the way to go. ]
... yeah. So am I. [ he sighs, letting his head fall against the wall of the maze he's leaning against with a soft thud. ] Are you hurt? There's still healers around if you need them. [ okay, so much for downplaying the concern... ]
[ Well, it's either this or some really pathetic freaking out and crying. Which, you know, is possibly a thing that could happen to Peter Parkers. Not that this one's gonna be admitting to anything a n y time soon. Nope. Nah. Emotions? What emotions, he's got a heart made of vibranium steel.
Peter glances over at his companion the moment he shifts to lean his head back against the wall of the maze behind them.
It's stopped becoming a huge secret that he is Spider-Man, mostly because his other self had already let that spider out of the bag, but he wonders how much of that news has gotten around. He's never confirmed or denied it, never had the question asked of him either.
When in doubt, just keep it vague. ]
Nothing some decent rest couldn't heal in like, an hour or two. Maybe. The worst of it is really in my suit.
And I can tell you now, I never wanna see a maze ever again. Next time someone asks me to hang out with them in an Alice in Wonderland themepark I am deh-heh-finitely saying 'no thank you but I'd rather do the laundry.'
[ as much as he'd like to laugh about the alice reference, and agree with the general sentiment, he's unable to move past what Peter glosses over very quickly, vaguely, and infuriatingly familiar. quietly, he mutters, ] Oh my god, not you, too —
[ before straightening so he's less leaning against the wall and more looking at Peter. then, louder this time, ] Look — having accelerated healing doesn't mean you somehow have to sit here and wait for your body to heal itself, okay? You're allowed to go and ask for someone to heal you, you know, right now. Instead of being in pain for those two hours. Being superhuman doesn't mean you being hurt doesn't matter as much as the rest of us regular humans being hurt.
[ his tone is sharp, the kind that doesn't want to leave any room for arguments, the kind that expects there to be an argument. almost like this is a conversation he's already had, before. and then, after a slight pause, ] ... for the record, I'd rather do the laundry, too.
[ That's kind of an extreme reaction, man. Totally goes against the whole no emotions thing? Peter straightens too, hands raised in front of him like he might be ready to get on the defensive if Stiles decides to freak out and totally lose it.
Which, honestly, he wouldn't blame him.
Most people have a pretty strong reaction, whether that be positive or negative, when they figure out his secret. At least Stiles is more aggressively for him getting some help rather than aggressively trying to kill him. That's a pretty good plus in his books; Peter might be too exhausted to fight back.
(Also? This is kind of getting ridiculous, the growing list of how many people know who he is. Stiles makes it, what, like half of Earth's population? Cool.) ]
Okay, okay. [ There may be a struggle to get back to his feet, but no real argument on his part. ] Fine, mom. You know anyone with healing powers?
[ extreme, perhaps, when one lacks the context... it's too bad he's not exactly eager to provide it, either. not providing any reasons or answers for just how exactly he knows Peter's secret, though it might be easy enough to guess.
what he does do is sigh and roll his eyes. ]
Not your mom. [ though the statement is slightly shaken with the way he reaches out, places his hand on Peter's shoulder to steady him, maybe don't fall over the second you get up, okay... ] And yeah, actually, I do. Sieglinde's a good bet. She looks like a kid, but turns out age has little do with powers. [ ha, get it... ]
[ It's pretty much what Peter assumes when someone doesn't even bother to play coy where his costumed identity is concerned.
Ah, yes, he thinks. It's gotta be because his Other Self already spilled the beans. Something to do with becoming a real-life zombie and attempting to eat their brains, and having to come clean about it. Yada yada yada.
Either way, Peter's pretty sure he's got the worst luck in the world where keeping his identity a secret is concerned. At this rate, he might as well not even bother trying to be secretive about it.
He still likes the suit though. ]
Siegfried-what now?
[ Wait. Did he just make some kind of a jab at him ...
His eyes narrow.
Yeah.
He probably did.
But considering Stiles is the only thing holding him up besides his sorry excuse for legs, he'll let that one slide.
[ it may be a jab, but then it's a truth as well — powers have nothing to do with how old or young you are. some of their youngest are also their most powerful, and he means it about Peter, too; that despite others thinking he's a kid, he can still do a lot more than some of their oldest. ]
Sieglinde. Make sure to get that right when you see her, she's... uh, kinda serious. And yeah, she's got powers. She'll be able to heal you, she was the one who set up the whole healing thing when Oska was under attack. In case you were having doubts.
[ Well - thanks, Stiles. That actually would mean a lot to Peter. He kind of gets tired of the whole 'you're a kid so you shouldn't be doing this' routine, even if a lot of the time he really does feel like the stuff he does is so completely out of his league. ]
Okay, yeah. Guess I can't argue with that kind of resume. And where would I find her?
[ maybe one day he'll actually put it to words... who knows!! ]
You are not finding her anywhere. I'm taking you to her, seriously, you don't think I'm just going to stay here while you probably faint halfway through the way there?
[ For some reason, proooobably years of experience of handling things on his own, he doesn't actually expect Stiles to have offered anything more than a name and maybe some kind of contact information for this healer.
To actually be helped out ... yeah. Uh. Peter isn't actually sure how to respond.
He's kind of weirdly touched though. Like, this guy is pretty cool.
